In the punditry world, some are saying that comedian Jon Stewart gave the final push to the long-stalled 9/11 health bill by devoting a full show to this topic.
But the the fact is that Democrats wanted the bill pushed through with a $7.3 billion price tag, and Republicans wanted it half this side, because a large part of the bill had nothing to do with helping 9/11 rescue workers. Stewart pushed for the bill to pass in its original intent of $7-plus billion, and it passed only after being cut to $4.3 billion due to Republicans. So… where/how exactly did Jon give us this 9/11 bill? I mean, what are political insiders dirking these dats?
