Opinion: Bachmann LOST the Ames Poll!

Congress person Bachmann runs around claiming victory in the Ames Poll. But when you think of the results, she actually lost!

She received 4,823 votes, coming in 0.9% stronger than Ron Paul’s 4,671 votes. This is a difference of a mere 152 votes! How is it that a candidate who – was born in Iowa and – made her first two months on the trail all about Iowa, came in a mere 0.9% stronger than a candidate from the South who most dismiss as a loser and a clown?

Bachmann came in weak in the Ames Poll, or Paul came in very strong. Either way, it’s a loss for Bachmann. Besides, who cares about this Poll anyway: 16,000 Republicans in Iowa will decide what candidates Republicans nationwide get to chose? I guess not! McCain won less than one percent in the 2007 poll, and the rest is history.

Good Point!!!! It seems like only crazy people can win these straw polls!

And now that perry is in the race I hope that things will start to settle and the republicans can finally put out a strong candidate against Obama

A loser and a clown? Well, I must say that I am excited to hear you characterize Dr. Paul in that way. To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher, I am quite happy to see someone’s personality attacked, because it means that you have absolutely no argument with their political and philosophical outlook.

It seems that Perry is also making comments that are equally “loserish” and “clownish”. He openly opposed a supposed law that doesn’t exist, and has made some pretty inappropriate comments about Bernanke. I wouldn’t, however, use either of those things to dismiss him politically. I actually support the basis of what he said about Bernanke. I do, however, find Paul to be a bit more consistent with my personal political and philosophical outlook.

    Paul 2012.

I wrote “most dismiss [him] as a loser and a clown.” I didn’t say that this is my opinion.

In fact, this article is more pro-Paul and speakd about Paul at a time when most media outlets ignored his win altogether. Only 48 hours after the Ames and 24 hours after this article), did some reporters mention that ‘Hey, Paul won. Why don’t we speak about him.’
