Don’t expect Jon Huntsman to jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon anytime soon. CNN Reports that Jon Huntsman had some pretty harsh words for the Donald.
“I’m not going to kiss his ring and I’m not going to kiss any other part of his anatomy,” Huntsman said on Fox News Monday.
The former Utah governor already declined an invitation to attend the Trump-hosted presidential debate in December and is now saying the real estate mogul represents the downside of politics in the United States.
“This is exactly what is wrong with politics,” Huntsman said in response to Trump’s earlier criticism. “It’s show business over substance. If he had any courage at all, he would be running for president of the United States of America as opposed to manipulating the process from the outside.”
Trump hit Huntsman and fellow contender Rep. Ron Paul of Texas over their decisions to skip the forum he is set to host in conjunction with the conservative Newsmax magazine on Dec. 27. The reality show star, who decided against his own White House bid in May, also dismissed their chances of winning the GOP nomination.
But Huntsman, the former U.S. ambassador to China who continues to register in the single digits in national and state-wide polls, said the 2012 election should be “about real issues.” He also touted his decision to debate former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in a one-on-one format later in the month.
“The presidency of the United States of America is more important than the silly game shows and reality shows,” Huntsman said.
