Boston Globe Reports: Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, N.J. and a rising star in the Democratic Party, will visit New Hampshire on Friday as a surrogate for President Obama.
Booker will speak to students at the New Hampshire Institute of Paolitics at Saint Anselm College about Obama’s accomplishments on behalf of young people, and about Obama’s plans to create jobs and help the middle class, according to the college.
Booker, who was elected mayor in 2006, was a major supporter of Obama in 2008.
There are rumors in New Jersey that Booker might be considering a run for the state’s governorship, against Republican Governor Chris Christie. If so, the first show of competition between the two men may be in their decisions to visit New Hampshire – Christie was in New Hampshire recently stumping for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
