NYT Reports: On Thursday, Mr. Huntsman got a bit of a boost from The Concord Monitor, whose editorial board endorsed him as the obvious choice for the Republican presidential nominee.
Calling him a “a consistent but never doctrinaire conservative,” the paper said Mr. Huntsman’s foreign policy experience and his steady manner would make him a better candidate to run against President Obama than any of the other candidates in the race.
“Huntsman’s depth of experience, maturity, sincerity and ability to work toward a common goal with political opponents make him the Republicans’ best choice to face President Obama in 2012,” the paper wrote.
